President’s Message, December 2020
I would like to express my deep gratitude to all our members for their encouragement and to all of the officers and board members during this year of COVID-19. Last month was our first Navy League Hybrid Dinner Meeting via Zoom. We were honored to have RDML Scott Sciretta, USN, Deputy Director, Joint Inter-Agency Task Force-South presenting LIVE from Key West via Zoom. His presentation was highly informative and kept the audience engaged. The board and members have been hard at work this entire year on our Sea Cadet Building Fund Capital Campaign. We continue to ask you to invest in the future of our youth by supporting us and attending all our future fundraising events. If you or your organization would like to make a tax-deductible donation before the end of the year, you can find information in this newsletter. Thank you! We hope to see all our members and guests at our annual Holiday Dinner Meeting on Wednesday, December 16th, at 6 PM at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club. We will be collecting “Toys for Tots”, so please bring an unwrapped toy! Our guest speaker will be LCDR Jane Sarnecky, USCG, Commanding Officer of our adopted USCG Cutter Richard Etheridge (WPC-1102). She will be joining us in person! Members can attend in person or via Zoom. During our dinner meeting, our new 2021 Slate of Officers will be installed. Thank you to all our members for your continued support of our men and women in uniform. I want to wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah and a Merry Christmas to you and your family.
